Cookie Policy
What is stored on your device when you visit this site, why, and how to control or delete it.

In short
This site uses no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no tracking tools. The only item stored on your device is your choice in the cookie notice, so that we do not ask you on every visit. You can change that choice at any moment from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website places in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits. Alongside them sit similar technologies such as local storage, which keeps a value in the browser itself without sending it with every request. These technologies are used for purposes ranging from what is strictly necessary to run a site through to analytics and advertising.
Technically, what we use is local storage rather than cookies, because it stays on your device and is never sent to a server. We still call this page a "cookie policy" because that is the name people look for.
What we use, in detail
| Item | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ostathna_consent |
Local storage — essential | Stores your choice in the cookie notice and its date, so the notice does not reappear on every visit. | 12 months, then you are asked again |
| Analytics cookies | Optional | Not used at present. If we ever add a visitor measurement tool, it will not load until you choose "Accept all", and this page will be updated with its details. | — |
| Advertising or tracking cookies | — | We do not use them and do not plan to. There are no advertising pixels and no cross-site tracking tools on this site. | — |
Separately, your browser keeps a copy of the site's files (images, fonts, stylesheets) in its cache to speed up loading. Those are not cookies and contain no data about you; you can clear them from your browser settings.
Third-party services
To display the site correctly, some files are loaded from external networks. These files are necessary for the page to work and look right, and we send no data about you along with them — but the network that delivers them necessarily receives your IP address and browser details:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com) — the site's typefaces. Google's privacy policy. - jsDelivr (
cdn.jsdelivr.net) — the 3D graphics library, on the home page only. jsDelivr's privacy policy.
And when you press a WhatsApp button, the map link or a share button, you move to that party's own site and its policy takes over — at which point it may set its own cookies:
- WhatsApp / Meta — WhatsApp's privacy policy.
- Google Maps — opens in a new tab; there is no embedded map on our pages.
What your choice in the notice means
- "Accept all": we store your consent, and any optional cookies are enabled. Today there are none, so in practice the result is identical to the second option.
- "Essential only": we store that choice and load nothing optional — now or in future — unless you change your mind.
Either way the site keeps working fully; none of its features depend on optional cookies. If you dismiss the notice without choosing, nothing optional is loaded and the notice may reappear on a later visit.
How to change your mind
- Click the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page to bring the notice back, and choose again.
- Or clear this site's data from your browser (see the next section) — the notice will then reappear on your next visit.
Controls in your browser
You can always delete or block cookies and local storage for any site from your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage website data (on iPhone: Settings → Safari).
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Clearing site data also erases your saved choice, so the notice will come back. And if you browse in a private window or block storage, the notice may appear on every visit because we cannot remember your choice.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever what is stored on your device changes — in particular if we add a measurement tool or a new service. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.
